Draft National Logistics policy indicates the Government intent to introduce reforms for reducing total logistics cost from the present 14% of GDP to less than 10% in near future. It is estimated that proposed initiatives would yield estimated savings of Rs. 9 Lakh crores (US$ 120 Billion) per year. Logistics sector is 4th largest employer and is poised to provide close to 3 million jobs in next 3 years.

Dr. Ganesh is a senior knowledge expert and global head of the Manufacturing and Supply Chain (MSC) Center of Competence at McKinsey & Company. He is having a total of 16 years of research and consulting experience in the supply chain domain. Dr. Ganesh has worked in Organizations like Tata Consultancy Services,IBM,IITMadras and LMW. Dr. Ganesh graduated in Mechanical and Production Engineering from Annamalai University, Chidambaram with the university's first rank. He pursued his Masters degree in Industrial Engineering at the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirapalli, and secured college first. He then moved to the Indian Institute of Technology Madras where he obtained his doctoral degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management.

Dr. Anita Kumar has over ten years' industry experience at the middle/senior management level in distribution, retail and supply chain management in FMCG, food and pharmaceutical industries. Later she moved to academics and has taught Supply chain and Logistics subjects at several prestigious institutions. Currently she is Director at CII School of Logistics, Noida campus.
